Christos Kyrgios refuses to apologise for 'Kokk' slur

Christos Kyrgios has offered a thin justification for his brother Nick’s comments about Stanislas Wawrinka in a radio interview, before refusing to back away from his own “she loves the Kokk” comment, which earlier saw him booted off air.

During an interview with Mr Kyrgios, 2GB’s Ben Fordham pointed out that Donna Vekic’s sex life had been dragged into the spotlight by the brothers, before asking whether he would apologise for the “Kokk” comment made by Christos to Triple M.

“I’m a religious man, I don’t sleep with someone unless I love them… she must,” Mr Kyrgios said.

He did offer an apology for the actions of his brother, who told Wawrinka mid-match, “Kokkinakis banged your girlfriend”.

“I’m happy to apologise on Nick’s behalf, he’s also apologised on Facebook – if something is disrespectful or wrong, we’re the first people to pull back,” he told Fordham.

Kyrgios then focussed on the actions of Wawrinka after the on-court stoush.

“You’d think a top five player would show a bit more respect,” he said.

Fordham finished the interview telling Kyrgios they would agree to disagree on the matter.
