Australian tennis firebrand Nick Kyrgios has reignited his verbal war with the umpiring community after throwing a tantrum over a bathroom break at the Rogers Cup.

The 21-year-old was playing a doubles match with American partner Jack Sock in Canada when the game was held up due to a rain delay.

Believing he could use the time to his advantage, Kyrgios told the chair umpire he was going to run off court and use the toilet.

However, the umpire told Kyrgios to remain in his seat, sending the Australian into a childlike meltdown.

"You're not going to give me permission to go to the toilet?" Kyrgios asked.

"Not at the moment," the umpire replied.

"But I'm busting, it's an emergency," Kyrgios added.

When the umpire blocked Kyrgios for a second time, the world No.19 charged out of his seat and sought a tournament official to prove his point.

But showing an extreme petulant streak, when Kyrgios got the go-ahead to use the toilet he simply returned to his seat and sat down.

"No, I don’t need to go anymore," he told the umpire when quizzed about his "emergency".
