Daniil Medvedev says he'll play the Australian Open, apparently confirming he's been vaccinated
World No.2 Daniil Medvedev says he expects to play at January's Australian Open, apparently confirming he's been vaccinated against COVID-19.
The reigning US Open champion, who was runner-up at Melbourne Park earlier this year, tweeted a picture this morning along with the caption, "See you in January."

Only last month the 25-year-old refused to confirm his vaccination status, giving a similar answer to that of world No.1 Novak Djokovic, who said it is "a private matter and an inappropriate inquiry."
"I always said it, that I really like Novak's answer about this," Medvedev said.
"I want to keep my medical, no matter if it's about vaccine, leg injury, head injury ... I want to keep my medical private for a reason."
Medvedev's announcement comes a week after former world No.3 world No.3 Dominic Thiem also confirmed his appearance at the Australian Open.
The participation of Djokovic, a nine-time winner in Melbourne, remains in doubt. It's still unknown if he plans to be vaccinated.

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews continues to maintain his stance that unvaccinated players will not be welcome at the tournament, saying the state will not be applying for exemptions to allow them to enter the country.
"I'm not going to have people sitting in the grandstands having done the right thing, only to have millionaire players that ought be vaccinated running around the place being essentially at such higher risk of spreading this - getting it and giving it," Mr Andrews said.
