Ever the comedian, Novak Djokovic had the media in stitches when he impersonated a veteran Italian reporter following his record seventh Australian Open title.

Djokovic was all smiles as he took to his post match press conference after devastating world No. 2 Rafael Nadal in straight-sets, but it was his perfect impression of veteran Italian journalist Ubaldo Scanagatta that stole the show.

Scanganatta's thick Italian accent has graced the media rooms of Melbourne Park over the years and has oft made him an easy target for a playful laugh.

Djokovic didn't need a millisecond before pouncing on the old-timer with a flawless impersonation before he could even manage his question.

That had the media room in an uproar as the world No 1 struggled to compose himself.

Scanganatta made headlines earlier in the tournament when he fell asleep during a Nadal press conference.

“It’s not interesting today,” The Spaniard joked, before the Scanganatta was woken up by his colleagues.
