Teammate puts face on line to test long snapper's accuracy

American football’s long snappers have a rather niche and not easily transferable skill set.

The position is a part of special teams and only involves coming onto the field when your team is kicking the ball.

As a long snapper, you squat in the offensive line before flinging the ball back between your legs accurately and over a greater distance than your normal centre would in order to give your kicker or punter enough time to do their thing.

With that in my mind, it’s difficult for a long snapper to use his football skills as a party trick, though that hasn’t stopped University at Buffalo’s Corbin Grassman.

The Bulls long snapper was filmed putting his skills to the test by snapping the ball back in an attempt to knock a drink bottle off one of his more trusting teammate’s head in the locker room.

Despite the difficult nature of the task, Grassman did it easy to reassure his cousin and Bulls kicker Tyler Grassman that he will be given plenty of time to get boot to ball.
