Seebohm, Wilson miss backstroke medals

Australian swimmers Emily Seebohm and Madison Wilson have both failed to claim a medal in the women's 100m backstroke final at the Olympic Games.

World champion Seebohm finished seventh and Wilson placed eighth in Monday night's final won by Hungarian Katinka Hosszu.

While Wilson was rated an outside chance of a medal at her first Olympics, Seebohm's failure comes after she entered the Rio Games as world champion over the distance.
