Horton fifth in Olympic 1500m freestyle

Australian swimmer Mack Horton finished fifth in the men's 1500m freestyle at the Olympic Games on Saturday night.

Horton's was second at the 600m mark but faded in a race won by Gregorio Paltrinieri from Italy, with American Connor Jaeger taking silver and another Italian, Gabriele Detti, claiming the bronze.

Australia's Horton clocked 14 minutes 49.54 seconds, more than 15 seconds behind the winner.
