McEvoy misses Olympic 50m freestyle final

Australian Cameron McEvoy has missed the cut for the 50m freestyle final at the Rio Olympics.

McEvoy finished seventh in his Thursday night semi-final, clocking the 11th-fastest time of all semi-finalists.

The Australian failed to rebound from his disappointing seventh in the 100m freestyle final on Wednesday, clocking 21.89 seconds in his semi - 0.57s behind the quickest-qualifier.
