Stool thrown at victorious Irish boxer

An Irish boxer celebrating victory has narrowly missed being struck by a stool thrown at him from behind his opponent’s corner.

Footage from the fight shows middleweight Gary ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan standing on a rope in a neutral corner waving a flag after winning a grudge match against Anthony Fitzgerald with a first-round knockout.

It is then that a red stool flung at him from outside the ring flies past him, narrowly missing his shoulder.

It is not clear who threw the stool.

O’Sullivan had shoulder charged Fitzgerald after the ring entrances before ending the fight with an uppercut.
