Squash player wins 'outrageous, joke' point with two dives

The reaction of the commentators remains an accurate way to gauge just how spectacular a sporting moment is and on that score, a point during the recent Canary Wharf Squash Classic in England was so good it was almost indescribable.

New Zealand’s Paul Coll won a rally during his match against England’s James Willstrop despite falling to the ground, regaining his feet and then pulling out consecutive ‘Superman’ dives to win the point in miraculous fashion.

However, it’s the call that really does it justice with the commentators bursting into hysterical laughter.

“This is a joke…Oh my God, that’s outrageous,” one of the commentators manages to spit out in between muffled laughter.

“That’s a complete scandal, what’s going on with the PSA World Tour, it’s turning into like gymnastics,” he adds in reference to a similar diving effort from Frenchman Mathieu Castagnet last week.

“That is quite out of this world,” the commentator concludes as a dismayed Willstrop drops his racquet and shake his opponent’s hand.

Despite the Englishman going on to win the match, Coll has been rightly dubbed ‘Superman’ as a result of his high-flying heroics.
