Sports fans love nothing more than athletes who give their all.

And when it comes to laying it all on the line Egyptian squash player Kanzy Emad El-Defrawy fits the bill.

The 20-year-old, from Cairo, is renowned for her fierce competitive streak ,which was on full display during a recent international tournament in New York.

Playing in the Tournament of Champions event against French woman Camille Serme, El-Dafrawy showed her amazing tenacity when she hit the deck four times in a sequence of desperate dives to stay in a point.

Fans and commentators were left gob-smacked as she repeatedly threw herself around to retrieve the ball in a terrific display of fight and athleticism.

Unfortunately it was all to no avail, as she lost the point and the match 9-11, 11-3, 11-5, 12-10.

Despite the defeat, the world No.66 gained fans around the world with her never-say-die attitude.
