Solo gets look at a Fury boxing brother

Solomon Haumono has the option of fighting on the undercard of Tyson Fury's world heavyweight title boxing defence against the champion's unbeaten world ranked brother.

Heavyweight Haumono's manager Matt Rose was contacted late last week about the possibility of the 40-year-old Australian fighting Hughie Fury on July 9 in Manchester.

That promotion features 206cm giant Tyson Fury's WBA Super and WBO and IBO heavyweight title defences against Wladimir Klitschko the man he took the title from last November.

Former NRL star Haumono (24-2-21 KOs) has risen to a career-best WBA heavyweight world ranking of 12, after his stoppage of chubby Argentinian Manuel Alberto Pucheta in Brisbane last month.

Hughie, who at 21 is six years younger than Tyson, is another giant at 198cms, 10cms taller than Haumono.

He has a 20-0 record with 10 KOs and is rated 14th by the IBF.

Rose has also been talking to the camps of two other high-profile world ranked boxers, New Zealander Joseph Parker and Britain's former world cruiserweight and heavyweight world champion David Haye.

However, both of those boxers have a fight on Saturday to get through first.

Three-time Australian heavyweight champion Bob Mirovic will make a comeback at the age Of 50 when he fights Ben Sosoli on the Gold Coast on Friday.

Mirovic will be having his first bout in over five years.
