The curiosity surrounding Nick Kyrgios’ loss to American Jack Sock at the Hopman Cup in Perth has overshadowed a magical shot made by his opponent.

Sock’s polished display included a perfectly timed shot between his legs which ended up counting as a winner.

Both players were engaged in a rally when Sock decided to pull out the  trick shot.

As Kyrgios fires the ball back, the American places his racquet behind his body and then flicks his wrist and stabs at the ball between his legs.

The ball had quite a bit of speed on it and flew passed the Australian for a winner.

Kyrgios revealed after the match he has a bone issue in his left knee, but insists it won't stop him from causing some damage at this month's Australian Open.

Kyrgios lacked energy in the dead rubber tie, blasting a series of unforced errors in a match that lasted just 49 minutes.
