Skimboarder surfs boat wake

US skimboarder Austin Keen is renowned for blowing minds with his shorebreak antics.

But the 24-year-old has shown he doesn't need an ocean wave to ride like a gun.

New footage has emerged of Keen riding a boat wake like a pro surfer.

The video, tagged "Hijacking a Boat Wake", shows the Georgian chase a speed boat along the shoreline and then throw his skimboard into the water to pick up the wake.

He pumps across the tiny wave, keeping ahead of the folding lip and then busts out a stylish air move with consummate ease.

The footage has proven a hit online, garnering more than 490,000 views since it was posted on Youtube and added to Keen's bulging collection of video highlights.

It also shows he's no doubt a talented surfer, should he switch boards.
