Tired of lugging skis up the mountainside? Bored with arduous, skin-numbingly freezing chairlifts?

So were a trio of skiers who found a new, jaw-dropping route to the top of their favourite peaks.

Xavier De Le Rue, Ralph Backstrom and Sam Anthamatten have captured one of the most spectacular trips to the top of Alaska after hitching a ride with a powered parachute, otherwise known as a 'parawing'.

Flying in tandem with the pilot one at a time, the three soar high into the sky before picking their landing spot, unhitching themselves and launching off onto the mountain.

The daredevils then do what they do best – carving a trail down the face of the slopes.

However, it is not known what the three like more – the trip up or the trip down?
