Skateboarding hits the water in wakeskating

You’ve heard of wakeboarding and skating, but have you ever heard of wakeskating?

South African born Dieter Humpsch has introduced the sport to the wider world after a new video recently hit the internet.

In the footage, Humpsch takes the skills and tricks from skating and incorporates them into the high octane water sport.

Being pulled behind an automated tow rope, Humpsch speeds down a home-made inlet before launching into tricks such as ollies, rail slides and kick flips.

And unlike the ugly scars brought about by spills on concrete and asphalt, when Humpsch fails to land a manoeuvre, he just ends up taking a swim in a pristine body of water.
