Australia’s best ever spin bowler is practically a cricket savant and it appears he knows a thing or two about horse racing too.

Lloyd Williams claimed his sixth Melbourne Cup winner as an owner with the Irish horse Rekindling pulling ahead of Johannes Vermeer and Max Dynamite.

Warne took to Instagram to congratulate his friend Williams and show off his winnings and by the looks of things the former Australian cricketer cleaned up.

Warne placed bets on who came first and second while also picking a box trifecta.

The former spinner deliberately hid the amount he won but it’s fair to say Warnie might need an extra pocket to stash his cash.

It was a family day out for Warne, with the former bowler out at Flemington with his son Jackson.

He took to Instagram earlier in the day to share a photo of the two of them with the hashtag, ‘father son bonding’.
