Schwarzenegger helps inspire world record

British weightlifter Eddie Hall has a new world record, thanks in part to former bodybuilder and Hollywood superstar Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Arnie was on hand over the weekend as Hall, who is a professional strongman, hauled 465 kilograms (1025 pounds) off the ground in a deadlift that has to be seen to be believed.

The weight was so great that the bar he was holding appeared at breaking point.

Hall attempted the feat in front of a packed crowd and triggered raucous applause as a judge approved the lift.

But none seemed to be cheering louder than Schwarzenegger, who was invited on stage for the world record attempt and quickly moved in to shake Hall's hand after the super-human effort.
