Helmet cam catches Russian skier's crashing fall

A Russian skier has captured a crash he endured during competition which led to him being airlifted to rescue.

Ivan Malakov was competing in Freeride World Tour event in Austria which sees competitors venture across the northern hemisphere tackling extremely dangerous slopes.

Malakov starts off flying down a steep mountain and looks like he’s cruising when disaster strikes.

The professional skier mistimes a turn and loses balance which causes him to stumble at an incredibly fast rate.

As Malakov rolls down the hill he can be heard grunting in pain while colliding with anything and everything he flies past.

When he comes to a halt, the Russian is heard informing rescuers that he’s ok before being airlifted.
