Union: Injured SBW finds ingenious way to train

It's official – nothing can stop code-hopping superstar Sonny Bill Williams.

NRL and rugby union players have tried and failed to stop the bulldozing dual New Zealand international with it long regarded that only injury could bring him to his knees.

Not anymore.

The 31-year-old has refused to let a torn Achilles stop him from training after he found an ingenious way of working with the injury by strapping the currently disabled leg to a skateboard.

The Blues centre suffered the injury while playing for the Sevens All Blacks in the first game of his Olympic career in Rio.

But instead of laying low and recovering the old fashioned way with plenty of rest, the former Canterbury Bulldogs and Sydney Roosters star was straight back into the gym with his trusty longboard by his side.

In footage that you won't see in many workout videos, Williams is powering through a session on a rowing machine while his left, still encased in a protective boot, rolls along beside him on the skateboard.

Some may call it commitment – others just rolling with what you got!
