Cocky try backfires for Samoa after brain-fade in Rugby Sevens

A monumental brain-fade has cost Samoa a shoe-in try against Spain at the HSBC Rugby Sevens series in London.

With only three minutes to go, two Samoan players were left red-faced after a cocky attempt to share their final try went awry.

As the pair crossed the line under the sticks the ball carrier offloaded to his teammate, accidentally passing it forward in the action.

The brain explosion was penalised by the referees and the try was disallowed.

The farce did not impact the Samoans however as they went on to win 26-10.

Australia were beaten in the quarter-final by England, while Fiji went on to win the series.
