Rugby goalkicker fails to use the force

Powered by

It’s enough to make a bloke turn to the dark side.

French rugby club Toulon had scored a try down the left flank against Racing 92 which left Welsh sharpshooter Leigh Halfpenny with a conversion from the sideline

Now, they can be tough enough at the best of times but Halfpenny found out they’re even more difficult when the theme from Star Wars is blared out from the loudspeakers.

Apparently it was the latest gimmick from extrovert Toulon owner Mourad Boudjellal, who is known to most Australian fans as the man who keeps trying to poach NRL players.

Halfpenny looked like he was about to channel Darth Vader himself as the kick sliced off his boot and went to the right of the posts but thankfully it didn’t cost Toulon the win.

Maybe next time he can use the force to send the kick straight between the uprights.
