'What a privilege it's been': Aussie men's sevens captain retires after Olympic heartbreak
Australia's men's sevens captain Nick Malouf has announced his retirement from the sport.
Malouf led Australia to fourth place at Paris 2024, which was his third Olympic Games.
The tournament ended in heartbreak as Malouf was red carded for a high tackle in the bronze medal loss to South Africa.

Tough and universally respected on the world series circuit, Malouf scored 82 tries in 61 tournaments.
He also captained Australia to their first men's world title in 2021-22.
The 31-year-old has started a new career with Commonwealth Bank.

"I could never have believed I'd be so lucky to enjoy the last 12 years playing the game I love in the company of such great people," Malouf said.
"There are so many things that I will treasure from my time playing rugby.
Thank you to the coaches who believed in me, gave me an opportunity and helped to guide me.

"Thank you to the fans who create such an incredible atmosphere.
To my teammates, you're the ones who made my career as special as it was. Rugby has given me so much and I am so thankful.

Australia coach John Manenti hailed Malouf as an "an amazing leader."
"For years he's driven this group and is the most successful Australian men's sevens captain in terms of world series wins, tournament wins and Olympic performances," Manenti said.
"But most of all he's a great man and we wish him every success in the business world."
