McCaw stars in spine-tingling advert

All Blacks captain Richie McCaw has starred in a spine-tingling advert ahead of his fourth Rugby World Cup.

The television commercial for Beats by Dre titled ‘The Game Starts Here’ gives an insight into how Test rugby’s most capped player prepares.

It begins with a shot of a mountain shrouded in mist before showing McCaw getting out of bed and scribbling in the notebook that he has written to himself in for the majority of his 142 Test career.

It goes onto show the All Blacks captain training, lifting weights, doing drills and running through stunning snowy countryside in New Zealand’s South Island.

The soundtrack is every bit as breathtaking with it being largely made up by a group of boys learning a haka.

All in all, it adds up to one of sport’s most epic commercials the equal of anything previously done by Beats by Dre, who are famous for using athletes including Serena Williams, LeBron James and Neymar to promote their products.
