Jaguares named weakened team to face Blues
The Jaguares have named a team missing several of their Pumas internationals to face the Blues in their Super Rugby clash in Auckland.
The competition newcomers from Argentina have left a swag of their best players at home for a two-week break.
The 11 omitted players will also miss next week's game against the Hurricanes in Wellington before joining the squad ahead of the third match of a four-game tour against the Crusaders on April 15.
Captain Agustin Creevy is among those absent for Saturday's game in Albany, along with classy back Juan Martin Hernandez, experienced loose forward Juan Manuel Leguizamon and outside back Joaquin Tuculet.
Wing Santiago Cordero was due to be in the first wave of players but was in a car accident in Buenos Aires after the team lost to the Stormers last Saturday and has withdrawn from the Blues game.
Halfback Martin Landajo is captain in place of Creevy and will start with a new five-eighth outside him.
Santiago Iglesias will wear No.10, with Pumas playmaker Nicolas Sanchez relegated to the bench.
The Jaguares won the opening match of their debut Super Rugby season against the Cheetahs but have since suffered three narrow losses, to the Sharks, Chiefs and Stormers.
