English women's rugby player scored stunning try

Powered by

England women’s rugby fullback Danielle Waterman has scored one of the best solo tries of the year in a Test match against Canada, a 70m effort which left five defenders grasping at thin air.

In the first half of England’s comprehensive 39-6 win, Waterman chimed into the backline on the end of a move in her own half.

Showing great speed, she burns off the covering defender before palming off the retreating winger, leaving the two Canadians in a crumpled heap.

Waterman follows that up by stepping inside the Canadian halfback before shimmying outside another would-be tackler.

With just the covering right winger to beat, the Englishwoman then turns on a nice in-and-away move on before her speed takes her to the try line.

A job very well done.
