Melbourne Vixens' Madi Robinson and Southern Steel's Jhaniele Fowler-Reid have been named MVPs for their respective conferences of the trans-Tasman netball league.

Wing attack Robinson played every match for the Vixens in 2016, creating the most goal assists and receiving the most centre passes of any player in any Australian team.

She is the first Vixen's player to receive the accolade.

Meanwhile, the New Zealand award for Fowler-Reid sees her become just the second player to claim three MVP awards after her rookie season in 2013.

"This time last year I was about three months post-surgery and only starting to run," Fowler-Reid.

"I'd been watching the netball thinking just how much I wanted to play but couldn't, so to now get that call (about the MVP award) was pretty amazing."

Meanwhile the New Zealand award for Fowler-Reid sees her become just the second player to claim three MVP awards after her rookie season in 2013.

The goal shooter has scored a position-high 681 goals at 90 per cent this season, taking her career tally to 2,485.

"This year I've started to take shots from further out, pushing me out of my comfort zone," she said.

"And I've also worked on being much stronger under the post."
