Renshaw scores half century

Hometown hero Matt Renshaw celebrated his second match for Australia with a half century on day one against Pakistan at the Gabba.

The Aussie opener didn’t have that much help at the top with David Warner trapped lbw by Amir on 32.

Usman Khawaja didn’t have much staying power either with the Adelaide hero caught by Niazi off the bowling of Shah.

But Renshaw stepped up to the plate in front of his home fans to score his maiden half century via a single without too much drama.

The youngster thanked the home fans for their support but his luck didn’t last too long with the 20-year-old succumbing to the bowling of Riaz on 71.
