Acrobatic punter muffs play

Note to offensive co-ordinators: If you’re going to use a fake punt play make sure it works.

Iowa punter Ron Coluzzi was given the call to make a fake punt play against Michigan… and it didn’t go to plan.

The play was supposed to see the line block for a punt and Coluzzi was to run in the opposite direction.

As the play unravelled, Coluzzi took off and was closing in on a first down when he tripped over his own feet.

As his momentum propelled him forward, Coluzzi’s feet left the ground and he somersaulted in the air, Michigan’s Devin Bush flattened the quarterback with a massive hit.

Bush was ejected for targeting as a result but Coluzzi had the last laugh, with the Hawkeyes claiming a one point win over Jim Harbaugh’s Wolverines.
