Palestine players pose with killer banner
Soccer players on a Palestinian premiere league team have posed for a photograph with a banner praising the Palestinian behind this week's deadly shooting in Jerusalem.
The attacker killed two Israelis before Israeli forces killed him. The banner features the attacker's photo and calls him a ``martyr'' and ``hero.''
The spokesman of the Hilal Al Quds team, Tamer Obaidat, said members of the team's fan club brought the banner to the team members, took the photo and posted it on a fan-run Facebook page.
He said fans were angry about the Palestinian's death but that they would remove the photo because it contradicted the rules of soccer's global governing body, FIFA.
Palestinian authorities are currently lobbying FIFA to declare Israeli teams in the West Bank settlements as illegal.
