Veteran swim star revs up Aussie team ahead of Rio

The Australian Olympic swim team is on its way to Rio with the words of veteran superstar Michael Klim ringing in their ears.

Klim, who competed at three Olympics, gave a a special talk and also presented the swimmers with numbered gold swimming caps to mark the honour of competing at the Olympics.

The Australian team will touch down in Rio tomorrow morning after finishing training in the US.

However, one athlete who won't be competing in Brazil will be Brittney Broben who was forced to withdraw from competing.

Earlier today, Australian Olympic Team Chef de Mission Kitty Chiller announced that 18-year-old diver Brittany O'Brien would replace Broben and make her debut.

"She doesn't actually know yet, she's still asleep, so she's going to get a very nice wake-up call from somebody to find out she'll be making her Olympic debut," Chiller said.
