About 12,000 scalped or illegally sold Olympic tickets have been returned to organisers and will be reissued.
Rio De Janeiro police have made more than 50 arrests since the Games began, including a crackdown on a gang operating out of Sao Paulo who are alleged to have purchased large numbers of tickets with cloned credits cards.
A British man and his Brazilian interpreter were also arrested over selling fake tickets while more than 40 scalpers were arrested outside the main Olympic Park precinct.

Rio organisers have also pledged to provide refunds to people who missed out on events that were cancelled because of persistent rain on Wednesday.
