Problems plague Rio Olympics

WRONG KIND OF HEADLINES AT RIO OLYMPICS:

SECURITY:

* Bullets or rocks hit media bus travelling between venues

* Two bullets found at equestrian centre, in press tent and stables

* Numerous muggings including assault and robbery of two Australian rowing coaches and theft of camera gear from News Corp photographer

* Security forces carry out controlled explosions, including large one at road cycling course during race

* Alleged robber shot dead near Maracana Stadium during opening ceremony

* Arrests of ticket scalpers and gangs involved in sale of fake or illegal tickets

OPERATIONS:

* Angry spectators forced to wait in long lines outside venues because of slow security checks

* Lack of food and water at venues, especially during extremely hot day

* Many seats left empty with 20 per cent of tickets unsold and fans electing not to turn up

* Water turns green at diving and synchronised swimming pools as chemicals run low

* Reports of buses carrying athletes and media getting lost.
