Mills stars, Delly returns for Boomers

It was Matthew Dellavedova's homecoming but fellow NBA champion Patty Mills lit up the court in the Australian men's basketball team's last hurrah in Melbourne before the Rio Olympics.

The Boomers beat out a young US college all-star team 93-63 at Hisense Arena on Thursday night, led by Mills in a dominant display much-improved on their narrow nine-point win two days earlier.

Dellavedova missed that game because insurance on his new $50 million deal with Milwaukee had not been cleared.

But with the paperwork done, he got his first chance to play with his Boomers teammates since winning the NBA title with Cleveland.

He played 18 minutes - his longest stint since April - to finish with two points, three rebounds and four assists.

But it was Mills who shine brightest, laying on 29 points plus five assists.

His former San Antonio Spurs championship-winning teammate Aron Baynes once again dominated inside with 19 points and eight rebounds.

Brock Motum added 14 points, while Joe Ingles had eight and an impressive 11 assists.

Soon-to-be four-time Olympian David Andersen was rested, but Chris Goulding and Ryan Broekhoff both saw some court time after recovering from ankle injuries.

The 12-man Olympic squad - plus Aleks Maric, a likely replacement for big man Andrew Bogut if he does not recover from a knee injury in time - will travel to South America next week ahead of at least five warm-up games before Rio.

They open their campaign against France on August 6.
