Australia have missed the medals in the men's K4 1000m sprint kayak final, unable to match the gold medal feat from the London Olympics.
The Australians finished fourth, with world champions Germany blitzing the field om Saturday.
Veteran Ken Wallace was gunning for his second medal in Rio.
