Man impaled on fence at Rio village

A man has been impaled on a fence outside media accommodation at the Rio Olympics.

Photos show the man with a large spike from a fence stuck in his chest near a temporary laundry tent outside the building.

He was alive when rushed to hospital in the early hours of Wednesday morning (local time). It not clear whether he worked at the Games.
