Jig is up as Jenneke lands in Rio

Michelle Jenneke has only just arrived in Rio but Brazilians have been seeing the Australian hurdler's face for weeks.

Her trademark pre-race jig has been featured in a Coca-Cola ad running on local and international TV.

"It's pretty cool I'm getting so much exposure. I'll try and block some of that out when I actually get to race because I'm just going to be focusing on getting over those hurdles as fast as I can," Jenneke told reporters at Rio's airport on Wednesday.

A video of Jenneke doing her warm-up dance went viral in 2012 and she plans to unleash it again on the track.

"I'll be doing my pre-race jig, it's something I always do before I compete and it really sets me up well for races," she said.

"It's even something I've been doing in training in the lead-up.

"(I'm) not really sure how it's going to play out, I don't really think about it too much."

Fellow Australian Sally Pearson is the reigning Olympic gold medal champion, but she isn't in Rio because of injury.

Jenneke said she was unlikely to take Pearson's place on the podium just yet.

"I'm not sure that a medal is in the books for this year, I'm not sure I'm quite good enough yet, maybe that's something I'll look for in 2020," she said.

The women's 100-metre hurdles will be held on August 17.
