Gregson 9th in Olympic 1500m final

Australian Ryan Gregson has finished ninth in the men's 1500m final at the Rio Olympics.

Gregson clocked a time of three minutes 51.39 seconds.

The gold went to American Matthew Centrowicz in 3:50.00 ahead of Algerian Taoufik Makhloufi and New Zealander Nick Willis.

Gregson, 26, was the first Australian man since Graham Crouch in 1976 to contest an Olympic 1500m final.
