- 200m breaststroke - Taylor McKeown leads the pack with the fastest time

- 200m backstroke - Mitch Larkin goes into it as world champion

- 200m individual medley - Michael Phelps looking for his 22nd Olympic gold medal

* Rowing

- men's pairs final - Alex Lloyd, Spencer Turrin

- men's quad sculls - Karsten Forsterling/James McRae/Alexander Belonogoff/Cameron Girdlestone

- K1 canoe slalom - Jess Fox has to first get through the semi-finals of the before paddling for gold

* Rugby Sevens

* Fiji goes against surprising Japan and South Africa faces Great Britain, all trying to get to the evening's gold-medal match

* Cycling

- men's sprint team - Matthew Glaetzer, Patrick Constable and Nathan Hart pedal in the qualifying and round 1 in the hopes of getting into the final

* Other sports handing out medals are archery, fencing, gymnastics, judo, shooting and table tennis.
