Basketball shorts no fit for Aust runners

They're all gunning for Olympic gold, but there's no doubt Australia's athletes come in many shapes and sizes.

It was no more obvious than when long-distance runners Jessica Trengove and Ben St Lawrence tried on a pair of basketball shorts in the athletes' village.

The picture, tweeted by Australian race walker Rhydian Crowley, shows the duo wearing the shorts, comfortably fitting into one leg each of the traditionally baggy kit.

While Trengove's and St Lawrence's Rio campaigns are over, the Boomers will be hoping to capitalise on their size on Saturday morning (AEST) when they meet Serbia in a semi-final.
