Olympic cyclist produces leg-powered toast

An Olympic cyclist has powered his way to a self-sufficient breakfast after producing a piece of toast through leg power alone.

German track cyclist Robert Förstermann was tasked with powering a 700w toaster after it was connected to his stationary bike.

Pumping his gigantic 74cm thighs, the 29-year-old attempts to maintain a rate which will cook a single slice of white bread.

Once reaching the 700w mark, the German is forced to maintain the rate with the threat of the bread popping prematurely if he drops his power output.

Riding at a pace what would be 50kmh and enduring a heartbeat reaching the mid-170bpm, Förstermann strains every last bit of energy from his 174cm, 95kg frame before slumping in his seat.

But despite his visible pain, the former world and European champion was able to produce a moderately cooked piece of toast.
