Cronulla rugby league player Myles Taueli will face court next month after allegedly crashing his ute into a tree while drink driving in Sydney's south on Sunday night.

The 20-year-old is the second uncapped NRL prospect to be charged with drink driving in the past week, after Manly youngster Liam Knight allegedly blew 0.176 when caught driving at 137km/h in a 70 km/h zone last Wednesday.

Taueli, who also plays for the NRL club's feeder team the Newtown Jets in reserve grade, was selected in the NSW Origin pathways camp last summer.

Police say they charged a man with drink driving following Sunday's 11.30pm incident, where no-one was injured.

"He was issued with a field court attendance notice for the offence of mid-range PCA, after a breath analysis returned an alleged reading of 0.102," a police media report said.

As a P-plater, Taueli has a blood-alcohol limit of zero.

Taueli will face Sutherland Local Court on April 14.
