NRL footy tips Round 25: Joey, Freddy and all of Nine's stars give their winners

Rugby league legend Brad Fittler has revealed he inserted himself in rugby league's biggest story of the week, sitting down for a lunch with Robbie Farah as the Wests Tigers veteran raced the clock to be fit for Sunday's do-or-die clash with the Sharks.

Speaking to Wide World of Sports for Freddy & Joey's Tips, Fittler did not hint at any inside information ahead of Michael Maguire's huge selection call but did reveal how the decision will be made.

"I had lunch (on Tuesday) with Robbie, he ran well (on Wednesday), he's got to run again (today), then it will all be in Madge's hands," Fittler said.

"So it will be interesting to see what Madge does, they've been going so well that little routine they're doing with Benji at hooker, (Ryan) Matterson playing in the halves and Josh Reynolds coming on, we'll see what happens."

Farah has been named to return from a fractured tibia for the massive occasion at Leichhardt Oval, however it is still unclear whether or not he will in fact run out for a final farewell game at his home ground.

Whoever wins out of the Tigers and Sharks will qualify for the finals in either seventh or eighth position, depending on the Broncos' result, while the loser will be eliminated.

The only way that scenario can play out differently is if the Tigers and Sharks are deadlocked for an unlikely draw and the Broncos lose to the Bulldogs. In that scenario both the Tigers and the Sharks would make the top eight thanks to superior for and against to Brisbane.

So, with those scenarios in mind and following his lunch with Farah, who is Fittler tipping to win the Sunday blockbuster?

Perhaps tellingly ... the Sharks (sorry Robbie).
