Tupou delivers some Globetrotter-style magic

The City-Country clash opened with some razzle-dazzle with City half Blake Austin scoring a stunning try in the opening minutes after a brilliant flick pass from Daniel Tupou.

Chasing his own kick after a touchline run, Tupou showed Harlem Globetropper-like magic to reel in the Steeden as it appeared destined to roll into touch and in one motion flick it back infield to find Austin.

The play came after hooker Nathan Peats launched a blindside raid from inside the City half in just the fifth minute of the clash before a sell-out crowd at Wagga.

Spying an overlap, the crafty Peats shifted the ball left to centre Waqa Blake, who then delivered a perfect cut-out pass to put Tupou outside his opposite Akuila Uate.

The Roosters flyer tore down the touchline before kicking ahead as the Country cover defence converged.

And just as the play looked as though it would end with the ball bouncing toward the touchline, Tupou used his amazing reach to pull it in and find Austin, who scored untouched.
