Tigers embrace NRL's toughest run home

Wests Tigers star Mitchell Moses is confident his side can make the NRL finals despite facing the toughest run home of all 11 teams left in contention for a spot in September.

After Saturday's NRL clash against Parramatta, all five of the Tigers' remaining regular season matches are against teams above them on the NRL ladder.

The Tigers face defending premiers North Queensland at home the following week, before a testing final month against Gold Coast (home), Penrith (away), the Warriors (away) and then Canberra (home).

If the Tigers manage to snag a top eight spot by the end of that, then the merger club will end a four-year hiatus from post-season football.

Moses embraced facing the league's toughest run home.

"We've got to verse all the teams above us, (but) it's not a bad situation we're in. Hopefully we can get a few more wins," he said.

The nephew of Balmain great Ben Elias is slowly carving out a breakthrough season in 2016, highlighted by a five-star performance in their last-start win over St George Illawarra.

Moses said there was a noticeable uplift in confidence in the entire side during the State of Origin period, however was careful not to pin it on the recent axing of veteran Robbie Farah.

"It's been there before the change was made," he said.

"It was around that Origin period when we were missing those players and we knew we had to stand up. We got a couple of wins in that period and now we're finding new confidence in the club."
