The Sydney Roosters might have started their season in sluggish fashion but their demolition of the Manly Sea Eagles at Brookvale Oval on Sunday has seen them take out the Fuchs’ Performance of the Week.

The Roosters were at their devastating best running up a 56-24 scoreline and with a roster boasting the strike power of James Tedesco, Latrell Mitchell and Blake Ferguson, are now second favourites to take out the Telstra Premiership behind Melbourne Storm.

Roosters hooker Jake Friend was one player ecstatic with the result, after a turbulent start to the season which saw fans turn on him as the club struggled to string back-to-back wins together.

Friend had his best game to date after coming up with two try assists, two line-break assists, four tackle busts and 46 tackles.

“I had a period at the start (of season) that was tough and not the way I wanted to play,” Friend told NRL.com.

“You always want to play good footy, but it just wasn't happening for me.

“Sunday’s result doesn't make it any better or worse, but it was pleasing personally to get a game out (Manly) like that.

“Hopefully I can keep that sort of form going into the back end of the year.”
