Farah has a Blues Origin future: Woods

NSW prop Aaron Woods is adamant Robbie Farah has a Blues future beyond this year.

Many are predicting next week's State of Origin III could be Farah's last game for the Blues.

The match will definitely be retiring captain Paul Gallen's last for NSW and, as coach Laurie Daley continues to blood new players into his team, there is speculation the likes of Farah and Michael Jennings will also play their final Origin games next Wednesday at ANZ Stadium.

Long-term Blues back-rower Greg Bird was dumped for game three and run out for his last Origin game. NSW veteran Josh Morris could also be in that boat.

But Wests Tigers captain Woods, who has been mentioned as a successor to Gallen as Blues skipper, wants his NRL teammate Farah to remain a part of the NSW set-up.

"I would definitely like to see him play on," Woods said on Wednesday.

"I get to play with Robbie week-in, week-out and I know the type of player he is.

"He is a top-quality player. He is probably the best hooker we have in NSW. I hope he is still here - I know what he can bring to the side."

Blues vice-captain Farah is another contender to succeed Gallen in the leadership role next year if he is part of the team.

"He is only 32 so he has a few years left in his legs," Woods said.

"The way he looks after his body, he will still be around for a while.

"Robbie is a good leader around the joint and a lot of the young blokes look up to him."
