Walker out for a month after punching door

Powered by

Vanquished NSW playmaker Dylan Walker has been fined $10,000 and will miss a month of football after punching his front door on Saturday evening.

The Sea Eagles had the bye following last Monday’s win over St George Illawarra and Walker had been out with teammates until around 10pm on Saturday, reports said.

He injured his right hand and was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital by his partner.

The Sea Eagles, who have advised the NRL’s integrity unit of the incident, released a statement this morning.

“Walker and his partner met with Sea Eagles officials early this morning,” it read.

“They admitted Walker struck out with frustration and stupidity when he had trouble opening the front door to his apartment.”

Walker was named in the NSW side for the first two matches of the Origin campaign but was dropped for Wednesday’s dead rubber.

The five-eighth is no stranger to controversy, having been rushed to hospital alongside teammate Aaron Gray while at the Rabbitohs late last year following an overdose on prescription medication.
