Broncos superstar Payne Haas admits he is "pretty sore" despite being cleared to join his NSW Blues teammates in State of Origin camp.

NSWRL released a statement on Monday revealing scans had confirmed "a minor quadriceps strain" for the Brisbane prop.

Haas was injured during Sunday's shock loss to the Dragons and admitted the thought of missing the Origin opener did cross his mind at full time.

"After the game, I was [thinking about it] a bit," he said.

"Obviously I really wanted to be in camp with the boys and just want to represent this great state. [I am] very relieved, I love playing for this state.
