Seven NRL clubs chasing Moses

The Wests Tigers are facing a fierce battle to retain Mitchell Moses with seven rival NRL clubs believed to have put forward big money offers for his signature.

With the Robbie Farah saga showing no sign of abating, the joint venture is facing the embarrassing possibility of losing highly-touted young playmakers Moses and Luke Brooks.

The pair are contracted to the Tigers until the end of 2016 but have an option in their favour for another season.

Both have been granted a six-month extension on that decision until June meaning speculation about their future will rage well into next season.

Their contracts for the 2017 season are believed to be worth $600,000 but both have chosen to weigh up their options before recommitting.

It's believed recent controversies, including the wrangling between Robbie Farah and coach Jason Taylor, have forced them to delay their decision.

The club sees Moses and Brooks as the backbone around which they will build their side for years to come and losing either would be a massive blow.

Taylor recently allowed New Zealand prop Martin Taupau an early release to Manly in a bid to free up room to retain the pair.

Moses' management declined to comment however a source close to the situation said Moses had been spooked by the "smoke in the house" at Concord and the five-eighth had fielded offers which were "as good as it gets".

It's believed Moses wants to stay at the Tigers and has a strong relationship with many of his teammates however recent discord has taken its toll.

Moses' recent call to delay his decision on his contract extension had also further fuelled interest in his services.

Moses, 21, represented NSW under-20s and Australian Schoolboys before making his NRL debut in round 17 against Penrith last year and has made 34 first grade appearances for the Tigers.
